Winters in Bucharest are cold and unpredictable, with temperatures often fluctuating between freezing and mild. January is the coldest month, with average temperatures barely reaching 2°C, while February's temperatures can drop as low as -9°C but also rise to 22°C. Spring brings a slow warming trend, with March and April temperatures gradually increasing towards 20°C and 25°C respectively. Summers are hot and dry, with July and August often seeing temperatures soar above 35°C, although nights can still be cool around 13°C and 11°C respectively. Autumn is similar to spring, with temperatures decreasing gradually from September's highs of 32°C back down to the cold winters.
