Lamu's climate is characterized by two distinct wet seasons. The long rains typically begin in April and May, with the highest rainfall amounts occurring in May, bringing an average of around 170mm of precipitation to the island. The short rains follow from October to November, with a significant amount of rain falling in October, reaching an average of approximately 140mm. The dry periods between these wet seasons are marked by warm temperatures and low humidity, making it ideal for tourism.
