Winter in Petropavl is harsh and long, with temperatures often plummeting below -40°C in January and February. The coldest month, however, seems to be December, with an average temperature of around -11°C. Spring arrives slowly, with temperatures gradually rising from -9°C in April to 18°C by the end of the month. Summer is mild, with July being the warmest month, averaging around 20°C. Autumn brings a return to chillier temperatures, but not as extreme as those experienced during winter.
