Higashi-Hiroshima experiences a mild climate with distinct seasonal changes. Winters are cool, with temperatures often below freezing in January and December, but averaging around 5-8°C. As spring approaches, temperatures gradually rise, reaching an average of 15°C in April and 19°C in May. Summer months, June to August, bring warm weather, with July and August being the hottest periods, averaging around 27°C. Autumn brings a return to mild conditions, with temperatures dropping back down to around 20°C by October, before cooling off again in winter.
