Aomori experiences a continental climate with significant seasonal variation. Winters are harsh, with temperatures often below freezing from January to March, and occasional cold snaps can drop temperatures as low as -12°C in January. Spring brings mild temperatures, gradually warming up from April to May, with average highs reaching around 14°C by May. Summers are warm to hot, with July being the hottest month, but temperatures rarely exceed 34°C. Autumn is cool and crisp, with temperatures cooling down rapidly from September to November, before the cold winter sets in again.
