Yuanping's winters are long and harsh, with temperatures often dropping below -20°C in January and February, but slowly warming up by March. Spring is a gradual process, with temperatures rising gradually from April to June, reaching an average of around 17°C by the end of May. Summer is warm, with July and August averaging around 19°C, while September marks the beginning of a cooler autumn. In autumn, temperatures drop rapidly in October before warming up slightly in November, only to plummet again in December.
