Qamdo's climate is harsh and cold year-round. Winters are extremely frigid, with temperatures often plummeting below -20°C in January and February, making it one of the coldest places on Earth. Spring brings some relief, but March is still quite chilly, averaging around 0°C with temperatures ranging from -5 to 5°C. Summer is short-lived and cool, with July being the warmest month at an average temperature of around 10-15°C. Autumn is similarly cool, with September temperatures dropping back down to around 0-5°C, setting the stage for another harsh winter.
