Handan's winters are extremely cold, with temperatures often plummeting below -17°C in January and February. As spring approaches, temperatures gradually warm up, reaching averages of around 16°C by April. Summers are hot but not sweltering, with temperatures rarely exceeding 38°C from May to July. Autumn brings a welcome respite from the heat, with temperatures dropping back down to around 14°C by October. Winters return with a vengeance in December, with temperatures once again dipping below -11°C.
